Emerging Professionals Award

Purpose of the Award

The Emerging Professionals Award is intended to honor a student or new professional who has embodied the values of the clinical mental health counseling profession and shows great potential for future contributions to the clinical mental health profession. This aptitude can be demonstrated by stellar academic, clinical, and/or service accomplishments in their early career.

    Criteria

    1. Nominees should be a professional associate member of AMHCA and their chapter. The nomination should be accompanied by one letter of recommendations from an AMHCA member (clinical supervisor, peer recommendation).
    2. Hold a master’s degree in clinical counseling.
    3. The nominee should maintain involvement with a chapter and/or significant contributions to mental health counseling field as outlined above.
    4. Any person who is a current member of AMHCA may make a nomination. Clarity of presentation and complete and specific documentation of the behaviors and/or incidents supporting this nomination will facilitate the committee’s selection process.
